I guess I'm still not clear. From some of what I've
heard, you're talking here of Internet III while other statements sound like "just" (for lack of a better
term) an improvement or expansion of the Internet we all know and love.
The Cisco/Motorola announcement is about enabling the wireless operators to participate in the Internet as peers.
The Internet has almost any information, wireless allows information to go almost anywhere. Today you cannot really
get any info anywhere. The Cisco/Motorola goal is to drive any information anywhere as rapidly as possible.
Will they be able to offer both, wireless and
wired Internet services or restricted to wireless if they license (?) from you?

The architecture that Cisco and Motorola are advancing is an open architecture and one designed to facilitate interoperability
with other equipment providers. Operators do not need to license spectrum or anything beyond that of a normal ISP
to take advantage of this architecture.
